Welcome to the Serials Department

The Serials Department in Ellender Memorial Library manages the journals, newspapers, and magazines in both print and electronic format that support the curriculum at Nicholls State University. Most functions of serials collection management are housed in this department (acquisition, shelving, withdrawal), excluding cataloging. The Serials Department is staffed by a librarian and two staff members that are here to assist in the use of the collection and your research needs.

Located in the serials department are hundreds of bound volumes and loose issues of print journals in a variety of subjects, and microform of magazines and scholarly journals. Out-of-state newspapers on microfilm include New York Times and Wall Street Journal. There are 3 public computers, a copier, microfilm read and scanner. This large space is great for quiet study!
