This guide will give an overview of how to conduct research for MATH 578

How to Cite: AMS


AMS style is generally used by mathematics. It features parenthetical citation and a reference list at the end with an alphabetical list of sources used.

Please consult your professor for the citation style they prefer. Always follow any specific guidelines given by your professor, even if they differ from what is explained here.

 

Select AMA Citation Rules

General reference format (choose the format that best fits your resource):

A. Author, Title of Book. Publisher, Place of Publication, year.

A. Author, Title of Book, Publisher, Place of Publication, year, DOI.

Take note:

Capitalize the first and all main words in the book's title and subtitle if it has one.

Don't include page numbers for a book unless you are citing a specific chapter in a book.

Include the DOI if one is available.

General reference form (choose the format that best fits your resource):

A. Author, Title of article, Abbrev. Journ. Titl Volume (year) page--page.

Take note:

Only capitalize the first letter of the title and subtitle of an article unless the title contains a proper noun.
