Search for Books
The drop down menu above gives you many options for searching:
Keyword: will search for the term in all areas of the record. Keep your topic to its key concepts for this search.
Author: you know the author's name. Can enter just the last name of the author, or if you know their full name enter is as last name, first name.
Title: can enter the full title, or just a few keywords from the title.
Subject: helpful if looking for numerous books on a topic. Below you will find possible subject headings to help in your research.
The POWER SEARCH link will give you many options to choose from when searching for a book. You can use these options together to narrow down your search more.
The CALL NUMBER search allows you to search for a book by its call number. Call numbers for culinary topics can be found in the column to the right.

- Interlibrary Loan RequestFor articles or books that the library does not carry electronically or in print. Plan ahead as ILL requests can take up to 3 weeks to receive.
- LOUIS CardA LOUIS card allows students, faculty, and staff to borrow materials directly from participating Louisiana institutions. Must be applied for in-person.
- WorldCatWorldCat is catalog of bibliographic records created by libraries who are members of OCLC. This database contains records for millions of items in over 400 languages.
