Some useful ebooks and print books in the Ellender Memorial Library collection

This list is not comprehensive, but these books probably will serve as a great start to any research on the Thibodaux Massacre. The DeSantis book is the authoritative book in the field. The other books often have chapters that mention the massacre and other events leading up to it. An e-book can be 'checked out' virtually just like a print book. Some of the material available on the Massacre can only be found in print, in the Archives of the Ellender Memorial Library collection. The electronic library resources are only accessible to Nicholls State University users. We suggest that researchers outside of Nicholls State check with their local libraries for these books. The Nicholls State Archives is open to the public; appointments can be made to look at materials in the archival collection.

Books not in the Ellender collection

Note: The Becnel book is available in the Ellender Memorial Library Archives & Special Collections department, while the Rodrigue one is found in both the Archives and as an e-book. The Archives hold a rich array of Southeastern Louisiana history. The Archives may be found on the first floor of Ellender Library, to the right upon entering the glass doors.
