Welcome Ms. Hodson's class
To experience your library day virtually, I've created this page. I know it won't be as fun as if I were there teaching you in person, but I hope that you can take some valuable information away from this to use now and the rest of your time at Nicholls.

How does this work?
WARNING: There is a lot to read, but this is how an online class rolls. I've made an infographic with the steps to help out. It's on the left.
1. To the left of this guide, there are pages on various topics. Click through each page to learn more about the topic. The Career Resources page will be especially helpful for completing your Freshman Reflection Piece.
2. Below, there is also a tabbed box (which I'll call a "module") on the skill of evaluating information. Complete each tab in the module. There are videos, interactive tutorials, and a quiz. I've created this module especially for your class and with everything going on in the world today, being able to think critically about the information you are getting is so important.
For example, I've seen so much misinformation on social media about COVID-19, but social media is not the only time you should put your skeptic-hat on. The tasks in the module will help improve your evaluating skills, so the next time you hear that this is the worst pandemic in history, you'll be able to come up with an answer to support or deny that statement.
Note: When off campus, you'll have to log in to the library using your Moodle login.
3. There is a poll for you to answer. Click on your answer, and you'll be directed to a library guide for more information.
4. In Moodle, do a discussion board post. Find an article about a career of your choice. Hint: use the Career Resources page. Post the link and a sentence or two about why you chose the article.
5. Complete the survey on the left. Pretty please with a cherry on top!
