Citing Manuscript Resources

When citing primary sources, always include repository information along with collection information. Item descriptions (such as "Letter, dated 2 January 1863"), along with their box and folders numbers, can also be included to more precisely identify the resources you used. 

Please use the following format  when citing manuscript materials from the Nicholls Archives:

[Name of collection], [Collection number], Archives and Special Collections, Ellender Memorial Library, Nicholls State University, Thibodaux, La.

Example: Barrilleaux Diaries, MS.00200, Archives and Special Collections, Ellender Memorial Library, Nicholls State University, Thibodaux, La.
