What is a Finding Aid?

A finding aid is a document written by archivists to help our users navigate a specific collection. Finding aids describe the contents of the collection and their arrangement, making it easier to find, understand, and use the materials you are looking for. The link below will direct you to our database of finding aids for the Nicholls Archives' special collections.

Search Tips

To search for multiple forms of a word, separate search terms with "OR."

Example: Searching for diary OR diaries returns results including either form of the word.

To limit your search further, include additional key words.

Example: Searching for diary OR diaries Civil War will return only finding aids that include both the terms diary/diaries and Civil War.
